PROJECT ACTIVITIES

ESSHRA activities can be categorised into three groups of activities according to their ultimate objective:

(1) identifying SSH research priorities in partner countries,
(2) dissemination of the results of previous Framework Programme projects on topics of high priority for the project partner countries,
(3) development of policies for transnational research.

For the identification of research priorities in project partner countries, the opinions of SSH researchers and policy makers will be assesses via a questionnaire. Data raised with the questionnaire will be used as the basis for selection of research topics of project dissemination events.

For the dissemination of the results of previous Framework Programme projects, three international conferences will be organised. The scheduled dates for ESSHRA conferences are:

  •  October 2007 - Istanbul Conference, Turkey
  •  June 2007 - Malta & Swiss Conference
  •  June 2007 - Sofia Conference, Bulgaria

The targeted audiences for these Conferences include SSH researchers, policy makers, research policy experts, and the media.

For the development of policy recommendations to facilitate transnational research practices and collaborations, the methods and tools created by the FP5 EU-Dimension project will be employed and a series of activities will be performed:
  • Data collection on current transnational research practices via questionnaires
  • Group Discussions among transnational researchers and research experts
  • A transnational research policy workshop
